At Grandparents Day yesterday, we handed out little "nachas notes" for the grandparents to write a special message to their grandkids. One grandparent wrote this line in her note, and I thought it really encapsulated what we were all feeling yesterday: “I wish I had a classroom like yours to go to every day. You are so lucky.” Me too, Safta Jaffe. Me too. (Here are just some of my favorite moments from yesterday--professional shots by @chaimperlstudios coming soon!) #ignitethespark #roots #lamplightersmoments #itstartswithone #nachasmoment
Aaaand it’s up on our Teachers Pay Teachers page! Check out this amazing Shavuos sorting activity— it’s a great visual for a Shavuos lesson, a conversation starter about the customs of Shavuos, and obviously kids can use this independently to reinforce everything you taught them :) And obviously it’s got the control of error element. And obviously it’s got a teeny tiny little shopping cart that kids are obsessed with. You get the point. Go download the file ASAP.

Today, we had the honor of hosting an incredible group of educators from the Pardes Learning Institute from Jerusalem. These inspiring people have gone through the Pardes educators training and are now stationed in schools all across the country of all flavors of Judaism. @pardesinstitute chose us 🙀 to be the school they observe during their annual training and observation time, to highlight the theme of the retreat, “Differentiation”. Can we just say? When we tell you our impact is global, we mean it. #ignitethespark #lamplightingtothemax #educatorstour #itstartswithone #lamplightersunite
It’s up! Check out the Pinteleh Gala Highlights video! Swipe through to see the the full video 🔥 [Video by the amazing @maytelesphoto ] Stay tuned for the full videos of the storytellers!
I want so badly to keep my posts exclusively about the Pinteleh Gala right now, while the high is still there. But this totally takes the front burner: a real Pinteleh moment. These boys designed, drew, wrote, edited, formatted, organized and bound these Purim books from start to finish. They were out on the streets selling, swiping credit cards, calculating change, keeping tally. They came up with their own marketing strategies (even made this video themselves!). They hustled to produce more books when they sold out. But what stood out about this entire process was how each of the boys contributed in their own way, how they worked together as a TEAM to make this happen. How they were so energized by being able to showcase their talents. But most of all, how they all decided that every penny of the proceeds would go to the poor. These are our Lamplighters. [to purchase a Purim Story Book, meet us at the front yard at 12pm tomorrow] #thisisthepoint #pintelehmoments #lamplightersmoments #itstartswithone #reallearning #practicallife
